New Laboratory Science Building
Ground breaking for the New Laboratory Science Building is planned for fall 2010, with a projected finish date of May 2012. The building will contain a vivarium and imaging and computation facilities in addition to laboratories for interdisciplinary research teams. The NLSB will be built in two phases, each of which will be approximately 72,000 square feet. In summer 2012, one phase will be ready for immediate occupancy and a second phase will be built as flexible shell space. When finished, the NLSB will house 64 faculty members and their research groups. The third phase of science construction will begin in 2014 with the Life Sciences Building, which will provide space for an additional 32 faculty members and their research groups.
